Round In Circles We'd Go

I can't find the soundtrack to Gigi. This annoys me to no end since there always seems to be something old that I want to find but can't because most things on LJ are Top 40 or bust. SO...if I made a "classic" comm, would people be interested/contribute? Classics would range from the 40s (or even before) to the 80s (maybe a bit later). Soundtracks would be encouraged, but major albums of the time periods would also be welcome. I just want a place where people can find the OST for The Maltese Falcon and maybe Purple Haze or something.

Anyone? Bueller?

If it's a soundtrack, you could ask at [livejournal.com profile] justsoundtracks, somebody might have it.

A classics community would be really badass. :D

I actually did find that community, but couldn't find Gigi anywhere :/ It's weird since I was under the impression that it's a fairly well-known musical!

I would totally be interested in snagging stuff from it. Lol. But I'm not so much with the uploading, not to mention I don't have any ooooold cds. I do have a fairly decent though random 80s collection ... on a data cd somewhere. And some older stuff too.

Everything from the 20s to the 90s is acceptable! Especially the 80s! [livejournal.com profile] lookbacksongs

Ok. I grew up in the 90s and am still totally in love with the music. I have the best 90s music. I will definitely hook you up when I get a day off work where I don't have anything I need to do. (See, I gotta upload it all to my comp first ... then to one of those upload sites. So it will Take some time, which due to work and vacation preparations (then teh vacation itself of course) may take some time)

There seems to be a great lack of musical soundtracks out on the internets. I mean, maybe hypothetically (of course) someone wants a few songs from "Oliver!" and they have to spend hours of their life wading through dead links just to find the full version of "You've Got to Pick a Pocket or Two". This is unacceptable (and completely and utterly hypothetical) and, in this day and age, a total shame.

Of course I love the comm idea (I am already in!) and am in the process of posting. Uploads take forever! Also, on an unrelated note, where's that Potter review. I'm posting mine tomorrow today, what about you?!

[identity profile] barkinmad.livejournal.com 2009-07-20 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
I know, right! I'm so glad your posting! I've been worried that people aren't going to contribute or anything...

Ummm. I have a video of my friend pretending to be Paul McCartney? Seriously, they let a bunch of teenagers sit in a theater full of popcorn and candy and soda for an hour before the movie started. Things got kind of crazy. And very, very messy (there are photos of that too!)

Considering that the movie ended at 3:30 AM I'm not entirely sure that I can give a cohesive review, but I did enjoy it quite a bit!

I just posted, but I have a question! I did not ask it here though, because that's what the mod!-tagged post is for... perhaps. (I can't tag with my band names.)

Why did they let you in the theater so early? (My movie started 20 minutes later than what the paper said. That gets a "kinda lame".) A not-so-cohesive review is better than none at all! Plus you have videos and pictures! Don't make me be the only one making Potter posts! Come on! ::peer pressure::

They didn't let us in early, that was the point. The movie time on the ticket was 12:01 and the movie itself started at 12:58. Trust me, I checked. There were multiple delays and free refills to be had.
