Inceptibobulate

Um...I might have been listening to the Inception soundtrack since I woke up at 10. And then recently switched over to Sherlock Holmes.

I have a Hans Zimmer problem.

DUDE, I HAVE LIKE TEN HANS ZIMMER ALBUMS. HE IS MY DRUG OF CHOICE. >>

I honestly only have Sherlock Holmes and Inception because before I was more a John Williams or Danny Elfman girl myself.

I love them too! Composers are just awesome in all ways, tbh. Which Elfman albums do you have?

[identity profile] barkinmad.livejournal.com 2010-07-29 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
They pretty much are. My best friend is studying to be a composer, so I get to here her ~professional~ take on everything.

My iTunes says I only have Nightmare Before Christmas and Big Fish, but I swear I had Beetlejuice and Spider-Man as well.

Oh, ~professional~ takes. ngl, cinema kids can be really elitist sometimes. Myself included. /o\

Oh man, it's been forEVER since I've seen Beetlejuice. And I need to get the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory soundtrack. Om nom nom.

Oh, I know what you mean! Some of the people I hang out with are hipsters and they can drive me up the wall. It's mostly with music, but they really can't understand why I enjoy campy things like Glee and Teen Which so much. IT'S ALL PART OF OUR CULTURAL HERITAGE, OKAY?!?

Are you majoring in Film? They didn't have that major in my school, so I started off with Creative Writing and now I'm going to try to tack on a Communications major because some of the classes seem relevant to my interests.

NGL, I thought the movie was based of the show (even though the theme song is about the only thing I remember). But I still love them both!

[identity profile] crystic.livejournal.com 2010-07-30 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
SERIOUSLY. I mean, I am quite guilty of railing against the TV and movie industry both, many times, but as much as I hate to admit it, I recognise that it is part of our cultural heritage. It's just that things like Jersey Shore and the like make me D:

I'm majoring in animation, specifically. Yay for creative writing! Do you want to get published?

I do toooo omg. The theme song for the cartoon is fantastic.

[identity profile] barkinmad.livejournal.com 2010-07-30 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh god, I wrote Which instead of Witch. WHYYYYY?

Ugh, yeah I mean, I can't stand Jersey Shore or Jon & Kate or mostly any of the shows my sister watches :/ There's just something wrong about them, and I feel like they shouldn't even BE a part of our culture. I was talking more about the cultish campy stuff that all of my friends make fun of me for?

That sounds awesome! I do want to get published, but I recognize I'm nowhere near good enough at writing stories. I'm actually leaning more toward scriptwriting for TV shows or movies. Or maybe something to do with working on set, or directing or something? IDK.

I wanted that roller coaster in my closet so badly!

[identity profile] crystic.livejournal.com 2010-07-31 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
That makes sense! There's nothing wrong with camp. My friend gives me so much shit for watching Vampire Diaries and I'm like "STFUUUU ;___;" I think when people judge things without giving them a chance, therein lies the problem.

That would be cool! There's so many jobs available in the movie industry, it pays to keep options open.

[identity profile] barkinmad.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, exactly! I mean, I understand that not everyone has the taste that I do, but at least try it.

That's true! But it's also highly competitive. IDK. I'm hoping get an internship somewhere, someday, and I'm hoping it'll work out for the best!

OOOH, HANS ZIMMER, OH.

But seriously, both of those soundtracks are goddamn incredible.

I had Time stuck in my head all through class. I was like, HOW CAN I THINK ABOUT ODYSSEUS WHEN I'M WAITING FOR THE KICK?!
