I have little to no idea how to do this properly, but I'm going to try to mix stories, panels and pictures while NOT stabbing your bandwidth in the eyes with a pair of tweezers. I have LOTS of photos, but I'm going to save the secondary ones for the next post. Onwards!
So I arrived in San Diego on Wednesday night and I took a shuttle to where
ibroketuesday,
cookie_simone and I were staying because of ride complications. I proceeded to start taking pictures, something I apparently would not stop doing for the next five days. Here are the two people who let me bother them with my geekiness for almost a full week.

Hot, right? I think that's why Cartman was spying on us from outside.

That's about it for Wednesday night, which is why it's lumped together with Thursday. We played five games of Clue and every single game Mrs. Peacock was the murderess. I SWEAR. And we all took turns choosing the cards so there was no chicanery afoot. Mrs. Peacock is one saucy minx and is to blame for everything wrong with this weekend and the universe in general.
On to Thursday:
Most of this day has already been covered by
ibroketuesday in a more immediate fashion, considering we were still majorly fucking pissed off we hadn't gone to the Wonder Women panel and instead decided to see if we could beat the Twilighters. How stupid were we? We were so stupid that we were moseying over to the Comic-Con building. MOSEYING, I SAY.

But this also lead us to be extra super cautious for the rest of weekend (okay, well, for Saturday and Sunday at least. Apparently on Friday we hadn't learned our question quite yet). But just to beat the concept of exactly how long the line was, here's a picture of it, oh, and THE OCEAN.

Anyway, we were pretty far back on the Psych panel, so I didn't really get any good photos. I did get some awesome ones for Dexter. The cast in total was pretty fantastic in terms of taking pictures, and I was particularly excited to see John Lithgow. Because, um, it has NOTHING to do with JGL, alright? Nothing at all...Have some lulzy photos:

And for a serial killer, Michael C. Hall makes some HILARIOUS faces. Examples:

We Now Interrupt This Program For A "Jennifer Talks With Her Hands" Section

And Now Back To Regular Spamming

He made a reference to a "Bowl Till You Bleed" shirt a guy was wearing, and I managed to kind of get a picture of it.

So that was it for the panels on Thursday. I know the photos aren't the best, but I think it might just be because I was getting used to the camera? A lot of them turned out blurrier than they looked on the camera so I'm hoping this is not a trend. Or I will be PISSED. Anyway, I don't watch the show (I know, I'm a horrible person, right?) but I really want to. I've always intended to but it's not like I need another show to add on to all the others I haven't finished watching. The panel was pretty amusing, although I missed them bringing out the dolls. From what I heard the season is going to be interesting, supposing that the shark has not been jumped. Who knows?
We met up with
barhaven after the panel and went down to a seaside tourist trap of sorts. I didn't mind because there was a merry-go-round. We had ice cream, and then
cookie_simone got a call asking if we wanted to have dessert with David H. Lawrence. Um, hell yes. Two desserts? Count me in.

After devouring a brownie sundae (my idea, of course) we politely asked for photos. Throughout the whole time he was so nice and funny. I felt kind of bad asking but, um, I did anyway.

barhaven has the cutest little Sylar plushie EVER and David totally ran with it.

There was a whole long debacle about to get home because her cousin sort of bailed on us. And by sort of I mean he offered to pay $20 of our cab fare and said he'd see us when we got back. NEVERTHELESS, it was a good night and I was already really excited for the next day. Speaking of Friday...
We ended up sleeping an hour later than we intended, but it was alright because we walked RIGHT into Coraline like we wanted. I was going to go to The Guild, but it was obviously too late. We were in the last row of the panel, but there was a huge crowd gathering around the table so I went to check it out. It turns out they had put out models for all the characters in the movie. Naturally, I took a lot of pictures. Some of them were quite adorable. Namely, Coraline.

Not so adorable.

Then Henry Selick, Neil Gaiman and Teri Hatcher appeared for the panel. MY SQUEE FOR GAIMAN, I CANNOT CONTAIN IT. The panel was interesting, but I wish there had been more focuse on Gaiman because...obviously. There were only about four questions asked (all the rest of the time was filled up with sneak previews of the extras on the Coraline DVD) but he answered his pretty briliantly. There was also a running gag where they made certain that the Other Mother was in NO WAY, SHAPE OR FORM based off of Teri. Some of the clips they showed of behind-the-scenes stuff were funny as well, since we got to see Teri Hatcher voice acting and Gaiman visiting the "set".
Photos are pretty crap though, so I apologize. In fact, all three of us tried to get a good picture of Hatcher and it was NOT. HAPPENING. She was always turned away from the camera or was making some stupid face. I'm just going to post the most acceptable ones, even though none of them really are.

After that panel there was the one for FlashForward that Tues and Cookie mainly wanted to see and that I kept on getting confused with the Canadian kids TV show with Jewel Staite and Ben Foster.

Sadly, not the same.
The show actually looked pretty cool. I never got into Lost, so maybe this'll be the new thing that everyone will talk about that I can actually participate in. David S. Goyer, who wrote The Dark Knight, is writing for this and it's Joseph Fucking Fiennes and Harold Sulu people! Awesome. There is also supposedly five years of the show already mapped out. They showed up the first two acts of the Pilot and there was about a whole two minutes of flashes of single shots. Apparently there is a plan and back story for EVERY SINGLE FLASH. So you know, it's gonna be awesome. Plus, there was a FUCKING KANGAROO. It also raises some really interesting questions and is a bit freaky. As in, what if you died in the car crash while you were having your flash? That means that your flash was just black and then you died so...it's like sudden death out of freaking nowhere for no particular reason. Scary.

And then there was surprise!Dominic Smith. Which probably would have had more of an impact on me if I watched Lost.

That was that panel. After it was over someone behind me asked me what kind of camera I used because the zoom was fantastic. I CONCUR. I pretty much love my camera to bits, guys. As is very, very, very evident.
Somehow, but some stroke of luck, we made it into the Bones panel. I didn't know that David wasn't going to be there yet so I didn't get to the see the video and then was disappointed when I returned. But oh well, que sera sera. The panel was just Emily Deschanel and the creator and we were really far back so there wasn't really much point taking photos of the video playing. Then again, that's exactly we did for Joss. Because....it's Joss.

Epitaph One (the unaired 13th episode of Dollhouse) was SO AMAZING you guys. I'm not exactly sure how canon it is since it didn't air, but I know that it does have an impact on the show in one way or another, so I would definitely watch it. It presents really interesting idea, and there's Felicia Day and Adair Tishler and OMG THE SCENE WITH TOPHER ALMOST MADE ME CRY, NO JOKE. If you want to talk about it feel free to in the comments. Actually, do that for any of the panels I've mentioned. Don't worry, I've still got a couple more photos, most importantly of Dushku.

Unfortunately, I was worried about getting to the live taping of Totally Rad Show on time, so I left the Joss panel early. Apparently about five minutes after I left Fran Kanz (Topher) walked onstage. DDDDDD: But I suppose it was all for the best, because TRS was AWESOME. You can barely see me in the podcast (even though I'm in the third row), but I'm there! Weird dyed-bleached hair and all. I didn't get great photos for this, for some reason. I think I was conserving battery? But here are some that I did get.

Like I said, they suck.

Still, getting this on camera in any way shape or form was pretty awesome.

An appropriate end to Friday! I'm probably going to, you know, sleep, and then post Saturday and Sunday which includes:
Glee
Heroes
Doctor Who
Torchwood
Being Human
So you know, everything awesome in the world.
Please don't take our photos without credit. Tues, Cookie and I traded off taking photos and we wouldn't want all our hard work to go unnoticed :/ At least tag this journal.
So I arrived in San Diego on Wednesday night and I took a shuttle to where

Date: 2009-07-30 10:01 pm (UTC)1) Make the show as confusing as possible. I LOVE being completely clueless as to what's going on
2) The show must be as planned-out as possible. Because this is the payoff for all the confusion. Things eventually become clear and make sense in unforeseen ways. Anyway, supposedly, that's the case with this show; it knows where it's going and it knows what it's doing.
Also, that second one's the reason that some other shows, which shall remain nameless, fail. And it's probably the reason I can't really get into Lost—because I remember those guys and their complete lack of a plan from the Alias days. Fool me once…
