Okay, so, yes. I posted two things today, and neither one of them had to do with Prop 8. My bad. I learned about it earlier and was immensely excited, but then somehow forgot about it because I was so busy setting my comm up.

Please let me apologize with a mini-gif spam:

Can I just watch the Doctor Who finale forever?

And ever and ever and ever?

I also can't believe I don't have a Doctor/Amy icon. That is blasphemy.

Also, I've started Buffy Season 4 and Angel Season 1, and I have to admit. I like Angel better. I kind of knew this before, when I made it to BtVS S5 and Angel S2, but now that I'm rewatching. Yeah. A whole lot less awkward stuff on Angel versus high school dramatics on Buffy. Maybe it's because I've actually been to college now?

I've been writing a Glee fic but I'm not sure it's going anywhere.

I wrote a Little!Amy and Rory drabble fic. Because I cannot be stopped.

Title:The Wrong Kind of Doctor
Rating: G. Like...Disney G.
Characters: Little!Amy and Little!Rory.
Synopsis: Amy can be quite bossy, but Rory doesn't particularly mind.
Disclaimer: Dude, if I had control of Amy she wouldn't have time to hit on the Doctor.
A/N: I wrote this for the "Bowties Are Cool" ficathon. Go there. It's awesome. I've also decided that I'm going to be posting fic here, but also at [livejournal.com profile] sitrow for archives, because I'd hate for that journal to just sit there. Expect there to be a guide post soon! I'm not crossposting this anywhere, so if you like it, rec it!

Um, this is really freaking me out right now, NGL.

Also, I specifically remember putting my iPod in our speaker set, and then didn't touch it for two days. My dad came home, put his iPod in, and doesn't recall seeing mine there. Those three guys who slept over and didn't leave forever in the morning except when they said "BYE!" while half-way out the door? Yeah, I'm not thinking good thoughts here. I hope to high heaven that I find it and this is all just me jumping to conclusions.

Banner made by [livejournal.com profile] oxymoronassoc. The ficathon is at [livejournal.com profile] glassbomb's journal! I've already posted and requested.

Title: Burn All Of The Photographs
Fandom: Doctor Who
Pairing: Doctor/Amy, with some Amy/Rory
Spoilers: The Cold Earth
Notes: The covers are completely temporary, because I'm an impatient person. The person I know who makes wonderfully beautiful artwork can't get internet access right now :/ Feedback is very welcome!

[Error: unknown template qotd]I hate this question. I hate all similar questions.

OMG JUST FUCKING LEAVE ME ALONE ALREADY, ALRIGHT?!

(By the way, HOLY FUCK did you see the new Doctor?!!)
barkinmad: (J12)
Guess I owe you a couple of things, huh?

Day 2
Well, I just wrote about Clueless for a paper, so I'm probably going to have to watch that tonight and quote everything line by line, but I'm going to go with Moulin Rouge anyway. It really just made me realize that all that things I imagined I could do with movies could really be done. And it has an awesome soundtrack to boot.

Day 3
Yeah, this is a little hard. Glee is my new favorite, but it's probably not going to be in my all-time tops unless the rest of the season and every season after is going to be as awesome as it has been. Supernatural is a favorite, but I'm a little behind (haven't seen anything after hiatus) and although I love it, it doesn't get me uber-excited every time I watch it anymore. Gilmore Girls is gone, Primeval is fun but not my favorite, Fringe I'm just getting started on, so I guess I'm going to have to go with Doctor Who. It's a great show (probably not the best ever, but damned if I'll ever concede that to my friends), and I'm happy and content every time I watch it. I was getting a little old of RTD antics, but hopefully this new season will be so much awesome I'll forget about the bad things.

Day 4
For much of my life it was Harry Potter. Now I'm thinking it's On The Road, by Jack Kerouac, not because of re-readability or anything, or that is fills me with happy feelings, but it really changed my perspective about life and a lot of things. It affected my philosophy in what I think is a positive way, even though the "characters" are clearly batshit insane.

Day 5
"I am two fools, I know
For loving, and for saying so,"
-John Donne

Day 6
I just counted the number of DVDs in my room: 56. Number of box sets: 16. I recently borrowed The Graveyard Book from my friend, even though I'm already reading Can't Buy Me Love (still not done, less than a hundred pages to go), The Magicians (still), all my reading for class and a bunch of really long Harry/Draco fics that my friend gave to me. I've also decided that I'm going to start writing a really bad gumshoe novel, so if you guys want me to post sections of that I might oblige.

A)RULES:
1. Reply to this post, and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee. Whoo!

1.
Weekend Update
It's old school SNL and Jane Curtain. What's not to like? The first time I saw this sketch I was on my sides laughing my ass off.

2.
Circle of Life, AtU
Oh Across the Universe ♥ I don't know why I don't have more icons of this movie, but the whole film is just so beautiful. There really isn't any plot but the cinematography more than makes up for it (not to mention the music and *coughJimandJoecough*). I ship Jude/Lucy so hard.

3.
Where's Cardiff?, DW
Cause who wants to be in bloody Norway?

4.
Peter Rabbit, The Monkees
This is my happy place icon. Peter is so adorable and cute, and though I know he's just acting, and he got kind of frustrated with how people kept mistaking him for his character...I still love him. I just want to hug him and pat him on the head and tell him he can wear the bunny suit if he wants to because he's a special snowflake.

5.
Brick, Brick
BRIIIIIICK. If you weren't aware of one of the main reasons why I'm so goddamn obsessed with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, GO WATCH THIS MOVIE. Seriously, it's one of the first movies I watched where the stylization and writing just completely blew me away.

B)Reply to this post, and I'll tell you one reason why I like you. Then re-post this and spread the love.

C) Step 1: Put your MP3 player on random.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 15 songs that play.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 5: Looking them up on Google, Last.FM, or any other search engine is CHEATING!

Musics )
barkinmad: (Pleeeeease?)
Are we absolutely certain that the Glee cast twitter accounts are valid? Because they're not certified. I want proof of purchase.

Also, my dear friend [livejournal.com profile] safebehindteeth linked me to two of the greatest things ever. This and this mean that I will never again lack for the lulz. The first one is now my background.

For all the friends I may or may not make (I'm still waiting to hear back from some of you), howdy! I'm kind of just getting back to posting on LJ since Twitter took over my life, but I've been here for a while. My profile says a lot about my favorite movies, shows and people men. I'm currently in a musical phase, which means lots of Glee, Mickey Rooney/Judy Garland pictures and humming while I walk. Enjoy it, one day I'll go back to comics book heroes and wanting to see things blown up.

I went to see "Princess and the Frog" today, and, well. Okay. )

And just because I've been collecting Glee gifs and re-watched Sectionals:

So, do you guys want my write-up of Comic-Con first or the pictures? Because there are a LOT of pictures, and to save you guys all from bandwith hell I might just split those up into two posts (one with celebrities, one without). You can already get my experience of the first day over at [livejournal.com profile] ibroketuesday's journal. The only things I did not do with those two was going to the TRS panel (EEEEEEEE! I know I'm the only one on my flish who cares, but I WILL SQUEE GODDAMMIT) and going to the Doctor Who panel instead of the Supernatural one. I HAS AMAZING SPOILERS THAT YOU'VE PROBABLY ALREADY HEARD. I do however have an awesome, awesome Heroes panel story so maybe I'll just pick and choose my favorite moments. I don't know, I've never done this before!

Keep in mind that all my photos of celebrities are both ridiculous and well-shot (IISM).
barkinmad: (Uncle Doctor Sam)
SERIOUSLY! Are there going to be people camping out for Doctor Who on Saturday night?

I NEED TO KNOW.
barkinmad: (Jakey)
Well, I'm totally dressing up like Luna Lovegood tonight and acting the idiot. It shouldn't be that hard XD I'm pretty excited but I know that my costume is going to suck and I'm not totally sure what the plans are. I see silly pictures in my future.

Speaking of the plans, are any of you DW peeps out there going to Comic-Con? Any of you camping out? I'm trying to gauge if a) I will have to camp out in order to see the panel and b) if any of you would mind camping out with me if that happens? I'm generally going to be with [livejournal.com profile] cookie_simone and [livejournal.com profile] ibroketuesday but they're not going to that panel so IDK if what I'm going to do. Also, there's a late TRS panel that I'm DYING to go to but that's neither here nor there since I can't really do anything about it until we get there.

I'm not sure if I want The Beatles to beat out Dylan and Sinatra on last.fm :/ Speaking of, I finally got my iPod (it's silver!) and a hot pink metal cover and it's awesome awesome awesome. I'm so glad I have my music back with me. As sad as it is, it was hard to leave the house because I'd always want to listen to music.

500 Days of Summer on Friday! BEST MOVIE WEEK EVER.

I should probably sleep and stuff since I'm going to be up all night. Although I'm far too experienced at that.
barkinmad: (Uncle Doctor Sam)
Not only is Torchwood and DOCTOR WHO going to be at Comic-Con, but so is BEING HUMAN AND THE MIGHTY BOOSH.

LIKE, WHAT?

WHAT WHAT WHAT?

BEST. COMIC-CON. EVER.

Forward all squeeing and questions (I can't promise I'll work up the nerve) or anything else here!
barkinmad: (Tardis)
HAVE NOT SEEN THE PREVIOUS TWO EPISODES OF "SPN" AS I HAVE BEEN OOC (COMMISSION, NOT CHARACTER...MY LIFE IS NOT A NOVEL) FOR THE PAST TWO DAYS.

I have, however, seen the finale of Dollhouse, and WOAH. That was kind of awesome. And I'm super-excited that I get another season. I haven't seen the last couple of episodes of "Castle" either (I have a lot to catch up on, I know, but exams and moving were horrible) but I'm equally excited that they're getting picked up as well. Apparently something huge happened on SPN BUT I DON'T WANT TO KNOW.

Despite all the things that I have missed, though, I do thoroughly believe I have been keeping up my geek quotient. I've spent the last two days watching Star Trek episodes and movies (okay, so only one of each, but I'm planning to watch more) and tonight went to see the new release. It wasn't epically epic, but it was pretty damn enjoyable. I missed the introduction to Scotty becuase I had to pee really badly, which I regret since I love Simon Pegg. I can't really say more without spoilers, and I'm too lazy for that. I guess you should watch out for them in the comments? I'd recommend seeing it, you don't need prior knowledge but I always think it's the right thing to do. I can't say I'm a fan, but I might be on my way to becoming one. Only because Bones, Scotty and Spock are amazing characters.

Before that I was watching a bunch of old 30s and 40s movies. I'll probably continue once I get my hands a connection that hooks up with my computer. I'm currently in Milwaukee and using a relatives. Anyway, it was sort of a Mickey Rourke/Rodger and Hart marathon. I was up until 5 watching "Words and Music" and I had a revelation regarding what I'm going to do for the rest of my life. I'm going to make a classic 40s musical. Set in the 20s, of course. I already have three songs written (lyrics, not score, and those are kind of questionable...but still), a plot and the obligatory throw-back song. Actually the scene around that song is what got me started on this whole thing. So I'm going to be working on that for a while. But not before I finish my Cas!crack fic. I haven't actually written anything, but I'm kind of planning it out. It might have to be in two parts because it covers the whole season.

So that's what has been going on in my life. I get back home on Sunday and then I'm home free for the summer. Well, kind of. If I can get my hands on a job I'm going to take it, and hopefully will be able to drive around by the end of June. That's about it!

Live long and prosper! \\//
barkinmad: (Fresh Prince of Gallifrey)
So....the Ood are not original characters. In the LEAST BIT OF SENSE. Because the Vox? Totally pwn them. They even have those creepy silver mouths pasted on their faces instead of making me think about Cthulu all the time.

In Conclusion: THE IMPOSSIBLE PLANET IS THE SAME FUCKING EPISODE AS THE ROBOTS OF DEATH. MOVE ON, RTD.
barkinmad: (Mum?)
I officially love Marhsall from United States of Tara. He listens to Thelonius Monk and has a Doctor Who poster! Awesome and amazing.

The daughter is cool, but I hate her boyfriend, which I think is supposed to happen.

Toni Collete is always fantastic.
barkinmad: (Mum?)
My Shakespeare professor was talking about English royal history and how Richard the III didn't in fact kill his nephews and wasn't that bad of a guy, and I had to cover up my spurt of laughter because I immediately thought of Black Adder.

Also, I was in my history class today watching children put on gas masks and I nearly blurted out "Are you my mummy?"
barkinmad: (Tie Me Up)
I haven't heard anything but good vibes from people on my flish about the new Doctor. I won't say it out loud or anything since I'm too lazy to cut and I don't want to spoil anyone (which, why are you on the internet? There's a YEAR before he becomes the eleventh, you think you're going to avoid that information until 2010? Whatever. I'm totally a spoilerphobe, so I know where you're coming from). But basically, I'm willing to give this guy a chance, simply because I had to give the same chance to every Doctor I've seen so far. I gave Eccleston a chance, and now thanks to him I'm totally enraptured with Troughton. And yes, I'm probably going to laugh my ass off about his hair and how "emo" he looks, or whatever, but that's all part of the joy of the show. It's what CAPS are for! This guy might not be our favorite doctor (or maybe he will be, who the hell knows?) but I believe that the guys in charge know what they're doing, and from clips he looks like he can totally pull it off.

I know I'm pretty much just reiterating everything everyone on my flish has already said, but I felt like I needed to say it too.

Now, where can I find all these icons everyone already has?
