Does anyone know of any really good biographies of George Harrison? I know some must exist, and I could search for them myself, but I'd feel a lot more comfortable with a solid recommendation.

...He might be surpassing Paul. MAYBE. I just identify with him a lot, I think.

I don't know of any (which I should since he's my FAVORITE), but I never miss a chance to say I loved him and I love his music. and his son is like, a CLONE of him. :)

Oh yes, I remember that photo shoot! I actually showed it to a friend of mine and I loved seeing her reaction. It was fantastic!

First off, George > Paul. Mainly because George > All Other Beatles. Always.

Secondly, I clicked on this thinking it was a post in beatlepics, and then was like, 'Wait.... bean's in here too?" Confusion!. Amyway, I have never read a George-only biography (though, not for lack of trying), but if I had to pick one, I'd probably go with I Me Mine, mainly because it was written by the man himself. My library used to have it, but before I could check it out, it disappeared. Written in 1980, it's 400 pages, including a lot of pictures and copies of his handwritten lyrics (with notes!). Every few months I make note to find it somewhere, then I forget. There are a few others though, written by other folks, and therefore, not as interesting. The ones our library has are Behind Sad Eyes Dark Horse and Harrison. The only one I have read is the last one.. it's a collection of his coverage in Rolling Stone. It was pretty good, but I still need to find that other one.

I know about I Me Mine (I mean I forgot, but it was there subconsciously) and I like autobiographies and all, but I tried reading Dylan's and you can imagine how that turned out. I will try it though, and maybe look at Behind Sad Eyes Dark Horse? Because the Rolling Stone description doesn't seem broad enough.

The Rolling Stone thing was not too bad. It was like they took all of the times he was in the magazine and put them in a coffee table book. So, if I remember correctly, it was a bunch of rare interviews (from from 1968 to 1987, so mainly post-Beatle) and pictures and stuff (like essays by all of these famous people. Dylan, Yoko.. you know.) It must have been written post-death, because Olivia wrote the forward. It was a quick read... and way lighter than The Beatles, that thing was murder on my bag-carrying shoulder.

A Dylan autobiography? I have a hard enough time dealing with his music, so I can only imagine what a book would be like. I did try to read Clapton's though. It was good, but I slacked off and had to return it before I finished.
