oh aye

Alright, so I'm about eight episodes in to Star Trek: The Original Series, or TOS for the more familiar out there. Spock just did his first Vulcan mindmeld and it occurred to me that even if the writers thought this up on the fly for this specific episode, the way they integrated it into the episode and just how much IT MAKES SENSE makes me miss TV. Not that there aren't good shows now, but I feel like these writers were sitting down for HOURS AND HOURS figuring out the character of Spock and sometimes Bones and usually Kirk but MOSTLY SPOCK.

Also, I like Karl Urban in the role and all, he's great, but there's no one replacing old Bones. I basically saw new!McCoy first, and I'm entirely convinced that no one could ever play the character better than Deforest Kelley. EVER. He's just, I can tell he's older, but he looks GOOD and oh man he's just so classy. And so perfect for the part. I'm wondering if he's ever going to get a girl on the show? And I know that Spock/McCoy interaction is everyone's favorite part, but I actually haven't gotten to see that much of it. There was a little earlier on, but they haven't had any good loud, bickering fights yet. I WANT IT SO BAD.

P.S. If I ever start watching Bones, how the hell am I going to avoid confusion?
