I've been finishing up cleaning up and organizing my tag system into something readable, which means I realized again that my entire journal from high school was also crossposted (or just straight up transferred) here and like...

Okay, I really don't want to delete those posts because that time and those memories will...maybe one day be precious to me. But at the same time I have tags for Johnny Depp and my senior theater class woes and I refer to my RL friends by codenames and it's all very...high school.

Not like I have to start completely over, but there was quite a large gap (filled by tumblr) and a lot of the tags I used probably won't be useful anymore. I get to fill it up with new tags for my new obsessions and my new pretty boys.

I'm also just really not used to giving a shit about tags because tumblr was the fricken' wild wild west. I probably have to redo my likes and interests on my profile too, but...uh...refer to the post below for why that's a drag.

Thank you for listening to my rambles, here is a skysolo video I found yesterday:

I've created a community [livejournal.com profile] inceptionau that just opened for all your noir/Harry Potter/BSG/boarding school/space alien/whatever you want needs!

As long as it's AU, you can post it! We're hoping to get the community up and active as soon as possible, and we're planning some challenges and bunch of different fun things, so if you're interested we'd love to have you!

What will you dream up?

Also, about community tags...apparently they're private to all other members until used. How do I reverse that default? Can I? How did you other community maintainers deal with this? Should I just go in after someone posts and change the tags up?

Tag Guide

A comprehensive guide to my over-ambitious tags that range from very specific to annoyingly broad (note:this does not cover every single tag, just the basic ones):

angst: Basically this is when I'm complaining, but I'm being less comic and more emo about it. I probably tagged too many posts angst that were not, but you'll get the general gist of it.
books: Whenever I talk about my novels or what I'm reading, this'll appear.
camp: This probably won't appear too often anymore, as I am no longer attending camp, but click this to read a bit about my camp experiences.
comics: Either I'm talking about comics or I'm showing off my own (probably fandom-related) artwork.
family: Any stories involving my family fall under this category. I'm pretty sure there are some posts with family mentions in them that did not get tagged, but I'm letting them slide for now.
friends: Whenever I talk about friends that affect my in my non-LJ life, then I'll put up this tag. WARNING: this tag can often mean angst of some sort.
hehe: This is when I say something stupid for comedy's sake or I'm just playin' around with you guys. It's also relevant when I tell a stupid story about myself (as in: I got lost walking to the swimming pool by heading left instead of right. True story. I wish I was kidding.)
holiday: Like vacation, except usually it has something to do with religion.
homework: This is for any reference to school, so that's why it's so prominent. This includes one-acts, teacher rants and complaining about (what else?) homework.
movies: whenever I feel like ranting or talking about movies, this is the tag.
music: same with books and movies, except with music (it also includes when I make mixes).
rant: This is when I go off on a tangent and almost never return. It's usually centered around me complaining in a good-natured way. Or at least, in a good-natured way as long as the person I'm talking about doesn't see it. *shifty eyes*
spam: This is when I post pictures of any kind, either from my own life or from Jared and Jensen's..
travel: Travel is most associated with vacation, but is different because it involves me going someplace different. So, vacation is when I'm off from school, and travel is when I'm away from home.
vacation: Whenever there is a holiday, snow day or any day off from school, this is used.
video: This is when I post music videos or things from YouTube that make me giggly.
writing: This refers to fanfiction and otherwise. Mostly update announcements or shameless plugging on my part.
